Job Description
RTC Programs Manager
Job Description
At Trek, we believe the best retail classroom is a store. Some of our best stores double as Regional Training Centers (RTCs). As the RTC Programs Manager, you are responsible for developing new training center stores while maintaining a standard of excellence at our existing training center stores.
RTC stores run seven different programs that train internal retail employees and independent retail employees. The expectation is always a 5/5 for quality, consistency, and experience of every individual that goes through training!
In addition to managing the training programs, you will develop the leaders at those stores and build their talent bench; you will work with Trek’s Territory and District Managers training them to become great trainers. You’ll work with Global Training DRIs to help them build training center stores in country and coach those Global Training DRIs on how to utilize RTCs in their markets. To train-the-trainers, you must be a great trainer yourself.
Choose where you work! As the RTC Programs Manager, you’ll be on the road visiting current training centers from coast to coast or maybe scoping out new ones - so enjoy flexibility in your base location. You might spend one week in California coaching the manager and developing the team there, hop on a plane to spend a week on the East Coast evaluating future potential training stores, then choose a training location to meet one of our global DRIs and show them the training ropes.
Balance out the travel and in-person training with days focused on admin and operations. The RTC Programs Manager owns the training calendar for all training stores and coordinates with each team to schedule internal store/service managers and IBD store/service managers for training. You are responsible for getting up to 700 individuals per year through training – so your organizational skills better be on point!
Responsibilities:
Ensure quality and consistent training across all RTC stores
Document training programs (curriculum) and update/reimagine as needed
Audit, evaluate, and develop new training center stores
Manage the training calendar and programs for existing RTC stores
Embody and coach Trek Culture at every store visit
Run in-store train-the-trainer events with DMs, TMs, Global Training DRIs
Develop RTC Managers into great leaders and trainers; build the bench for when those leaders get promoted
Deliver feedback on trainees’ performances; develop ongoing training plans
Requirements:
3 years retail experience (bicycle retail experience highly preferred)
Great in-person trainer (excellent presentation skills)
Energy, empathy, authority, and passion to help others succeed
Able to connect with people and coach behavioral changes in a short period of time
Detail oriented and organized
Learn-it-all attitude
Up to 70% travel
