Job Description and mission
As Trek South Africa’s Accountant your primary focus will be managing various day to day operational finance activities for the business and supporting your Finance teammates with oversight, reporting and analysis. You’ll go above and beyond to provide the best customer service to everyone that you work with so, in addition to your primary role, you’ll be called on and encouraged to help in all areas of our business.
We also want you to be open to identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives so always be curious.
Responsibilities
Banking
Processing of daily receipts
Creation of weekly payment batches
Bank and cash account reconciliations
Management of credit card program
Accounts Receivable
Application of receipts/ credit notes to dealer accounts
Account reconciliations
Delinquent account reviews
Dealer engagement
Accounts Payable
New vendor set upsVendor invoice capturing
Account reconciliations
Vendor credit limit management
Accruals/ prepayments
Team expense management
Other
Purchase order matchingSupport Retail inventory processes
Fixed asset management including depreciation
Company secretarial admin requirements
Month end and budgeting support
Essential Position Requirements:
At least five years in a similar role
At least five years in a wholesale or retail environment
A completed degree or higher certificate in an accounting or finance field
Intermediate Excel skills
Exceptionally strong team ethic
A positive and open mind towards new challenges
Not a deal-breaker, but preferred
Experience in working with JD EdwardsAppreciation for entrepreneurial spirit
